The Wichita Parks Foundation will hold a fundraising event Saturday to support the foundation and raise awareness of several parks projects it supports.
The event, “Party for the Parks,” will take place on the Hyatt Hotel lawn from 5 to 10 p.m. It is free to the public.
Among the projects the foundation will be supporting are replacement of the Watson Park train, summer program scholarships for at‐risk youths, installation of artificial turf fields in city parks, new batting cages at the Southlakes Sports Complex and scoreboard upgrades at city sports fields.
Attendees also will be able to learn more about work being done on the restoration of the Fresh Air Baby Camp in Riverside Park and get information on the second annual Fido 5k, which supports Wichita’s dog parks.
