Suspects arrested in connection with a theft could be tied to a rash of property crimes in an area south of Haysville in recent days, a Sedgwick County sheriff’s official said Wednesday.
Of 37 thefts and burglaries reported in the county since last week, 15 occurred in the area south of Haysville, sheriff’s Lt. David Mattingly said.
The suspects he was referring to were involved an incident at 3:30 a.m. Sunday in which deputies were dispatched to a theft occurring near 8100 S. Victoria, Mattingly said.
Haysville police and sheriff’s deputies found a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle. A man, a woman and a 15-year-old girl were inside. Deputies found a stolen purse in the vehicle. A 35-year-old Haysville woman was booked on suspicion of theft; the 15-year-old, who is the daughter of the 35-year-old, was released to her father. A 19-year-old man was also booked on suspicion of theft.
