Four DUI arrests made at checkpoint over holiday weekend

Law enforcement made four DUI arrests during a four-hour period that targeted intoxicated drivers over the Labor Day weekend, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

The sobriety check lane was set up between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 5300 block of South Broadway. Besides the DUI arrests, there were three arrests of people driving on a suspended license and one in connection to a drug case, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Wichita Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol participated in the checkpoint.
