A 16-year-old was shot in the neck, but so far is not telling police what happened.
According to Wichita police, the boy’s mother, who lives in the 3800 block of Ross Parkway, in the Planeview area, woke up about 2:05 a.m. Saturday to find her son bleeding from the neck and with a laceration to his eyebrow.
At Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, medical personnel discovered the boy had been shot in the back of his neck and that the bullet was lodged behind one of his molars.
Officers came to the hospital, but the victim didn’t cooperate. Police said they are still attempting to learn more about the shooting.
