A man showed up at a Wichita hospital with a serious stab wound to his abdomen early Tuesday morning, police said.
The man arrived at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday with the stab wound, Lt. Doug Nolte said. He told investigating officers that he had gone to a house in the 2900 block of East Evans — near Hillside and 31st Street South — to help a friend with her car.
Another friend of the woman, a man in his 40s, became upset that the victim was there and a fight broke out, Nolte said. During the fight, the victim was stabbed in the right side of his abdomen with a knife.
He drove to the St. Francis campus, at 929 N. St. Francis, for treatment. He was found to have meth “and two glass pipes to smoke it” in his possession, Nolte said.
