City slates social media town hall tonight on the 2014 budget

Wichita city officials will host the second social media town hall tonight on the 2014-15 city budget.

The town hall runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night, and will operate out of Training Room II on the ninth floor of city hall.

The town hall comes a day after City Manager Robert Layton presented his recommendations for the 2014-15 budget during Tuesday’s city council meeting.

During the meeting, residents may ask questions on the city’s Facebook page or through Twitter using #ictbudget as the hashtag.

The first social media town hall was on June 17, supporting the city’s increased emphasis on public engagement and transparency.

Citizens also can provide budget feedback on Activate Wichita at, a cyber town hall covering a wide range of community topics.
