Only one person, a volunteer for Sedgwick County Extension Service, spoke during the first public hearing about the county’s proposed nearly $414 million budget for next year.
The hearing was the first of two planned before commissioners vote on the budget Aug. 7.
The second hearing will be at 9 a.m. July 31 in the commission’s chambers on the third floor of the courthouse, 525 N. Main.
