A quintessential summer day looms for the city of Wichita today, forecasters say.
It’ll be hot, sunny and windy. Highs will climb near 100 with southerly winds in the teens and gusting to nearly 25 miles an hour. Overnight lows will settle in the mid-70s under mostly clear skies, forecasters say, and Saturday looks to be a mirror image of today.
Highs will again approach 100, with southerly winds gusting into the mid-20s. A chance of showers returns on Sunday and stretches early into next week, forecasters say, but the more important feature could well be the much cooler temperatures – dipping into the 80s by Monday.
