Man arrested after hitting stepdaughter’s boyfriend with gun

A 29-year-old stepfather was arrested early Friday morning after hitting his stepdaughter’s 16-year-old boyfriend with a black semi-automatic handgun and punching him several times in the face, police said Friday.

The man drove to a house in the 13000 block of East Mount Vernon Court around 1:30 a.m. Friday to pick up his 18-year-old stepdaughter after she did not return home on curfew. When he arrived, he went to the trunk and pulled out the pistol, police said.

He went up to the boy and hit him with the handgun at least four times and punched him in the face several times. The man then threatened to kill him, police said. He left before police arrived.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate the man in the 800 block of West Savannah, near Pawnee and Seneca. He was arrested under suspicion of aggravated battery and criminal threats, and taken into custody.

The boyfriend was not seriously injured, police said.
