Sunshine, light winds, temperatures teasing 80 – this is what awaits Wichita on the first Friday in June.
The winds will be still in the morning, forecasters say, before stirring out of the east just enough to tickle the skin. Overnight lows will settle in the low 60s with plenty of stars twinkling in the southern Kansas skies, then Saturday arrives with more clouds and more wind.
Highs should reach the mid-80s before chances of showers and thunderstorms arrive late in the day, forecasters say. Winds out of the south will be steady in the teens and gust above 30 miles an hour later on.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely late Saturday night and early into Sunday morning, with lows dropping anchor in the mid-60s. But Sunday should be sunny again, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-80s.
