Early morning showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist into early Wednesday afternoon in the Wichita metropolitan area, forecasters say.
The morning commute may be a bit challenging if heavy rain is falling at that time, forecasters say. Highs are expected to top out in the low 70s, with northeast winds gusting to nearly 25 miles an hour.
Chances for showers will linger overnight, forecasters say, with lows sliding back into the upper 50s. Sunshine should arrive on Thursday, with highs recovering into the mid- to upper 70s.
Friday is expected to offer more sunshine before another round of showers arrives for the weekend.
