A recent enforcement focus on seatbelt laws by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office led to hundreds of tickets and more than 600 traffic stops.
A news release Tuesday from the sheriff’s office said that deputies wrote 612 safety belt citations, 25 tickets regarding child restraints and 72 tickets for other traffic violations. Deputies made 618 traffic stops during the campaign, which ran for several weeks.
A grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation supported the enforcement campaign.
