It could be a rainy, rumbly day in the Wichita metropolitan area today, forecasters say.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible off and on throughout the day and into the evening, with highs climbing into the low 80s and south winds steady in the teens and gusting above 25 miles an hour.
Rain and thunder could persist overnight and into Wednesday, when a few of the storms could become severe. Highs on Wednesday will be cooler, forecasters say, topping out in the mid-70s. Winds will flip to the north early Wednesday morning and be lighter as well, with gusts touching 20 miles an hour.
Thursday should see a break in the stormy pattern, with sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s.
