Early morning showers should end by the start of the workday in the Wichita area, forecasters say, and then a dry spell arrives.
Highs are expected to reach the low 80s with light and variable winds. Skies will remain mostly cloudy overnight and lows will dip into the upper 50s, forecasters said.
The weekend shapes up to be sunny and warm, with highs in the mid-70s. It’ll be breezy at times, with north winds in the teens on Saturday gusting to the mid-20s. Winds will be lighter on Sunday but remain out of the north.
Chances for showers return early next week.
