A 13-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday night in connection with the stoning of a man sitting outside his house in north Wichita, police said.
One of the rocks thrown was the size of a tennis ball, Lt. Doug Nolte said, and it knocked out the 46-year-old victim. The incident was reported shortly before 8 p.m. near 21st and Waco.
Police and paramedics responded to the scene, and the victim was able to give enough of a description for officers to identify and locate the suspect. A police document reports that he confessed to throwing the rocks.
The victim was hit more than once, including after he had been knocked unconscious, Nolte said. As many as five rocks may have been thrown, he said.

No words were exchanged prior to the attack, Nolte said, and police are not sure of the motive.
The victim was treated at the scene for a large cut on his head, which bled heavily, but he refused to be transported to a local hospital.
