Garden Plain issued a boil order on Saturday for residents using municipal water following a water main break.
The order will remain in effect at least through the holiday weekend, Mayor Larry Lampe said. Residents are advised to boil their water until further notice.
The water main break had been repaired by about 2 p.m. and a crew was working to refill the 100,000-gallon city water tower Saturday afternoon. The order will be lifted after a water sample is tested by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, which is expected early next week, Lampe said.
