Robust north winds will take a bite out of a sunny day in the Wichita area today.
Highs will approach 50 in the metropolitan area, forecasters say, but north winds will be steady in the teens and gust to about 20 miles an hour. Temperatures will dip into the mid-20s overnight under clear skies, with winds easing and shifting back to the south.
Friday offers more wind and more warmth, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-50s and south winds in the teens gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour.
