The El Dorado Correctional Facility was placed on lockdown for more than two hours Monday after a delivery truck crashed into a fence at the prison.
Kansas Department of Corrections spokesman Jeremy Barclay said an axle on a UPS tractor-trailer that had just made a deliver to the prison broke shortly after 2 p.m., sending the truck crashing into the fence.
“It did not breach the fence, and there was never any security risk,” Barkley said.
He said the prison resumed normal operations before 5 p.m. after the truck was towed away and prison officials checked the integrity of the fence. The driver of the truck was not injured.
