Craigslist sale turns to robbery in west Wichita

A man planning to sell electronics to buyers he met through Craigslist was robbed by four suspects Sunday night police said.

The 37-year-old man agreed to meet the buyers at a parking lot in the 600 block of West 27th Street, just west of Watson Park, shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday to sell them a flat-screen television and a PlayStation 3, Lt. Doug Nolte said. But one of the three men who got out of the Nissan Altima to complete the transaction pulled out a gun and demanded cash as well as the electronics.

They then slashed three of the tires on his vehicle so he couldn’t come after them to retrieve the stolen electronics, Nolte said. The suspects left with the stolen property in the Altima, which was being driven by a fourth person.

The victim was able to provide a tag number for the Altima: A064920.
