A robber tied up a 92-year-old Wichita man with belts in the man’s home after the resident invited him inside, Wichita police said Saturday.
Neither the resident nor his wife, also 92, were injured, police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said.
The robbery occurred at about 5:20 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of South Topeka. The resident said a man came to his front door and said he wanted to borrow money. After the 92-year-old invited the man inside, the man grabbed him, pushed him down and used belts to tie him up. The robber took a wallet with cash. The man freed himself and got help, Brunscheen said.
