Presto employee beaten, robbed near Harry and Rock Road

A Presto employee was beaten and robbed as he left the convenience store shortly after midnight Thursday, police said.

The 26-year-old man reported that he was attacked at 12:10 a.m. after he left the store at 1260 S. Rock Road, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. The unknown assailant hit him over the head with a pole and demanded money.

The victim gave him his wallet, which contained about $200 in cash, Schroeder said. The attacker is a black male about 5-feet-10, with a slim build. He wore blue jeans, a gray hoodie with the hood pulled up and a red bandanna over his face.

The man left the area on foot. Police plan to review store video to see if it provides clues to his identity, a police report states.
