Pedestrian, 38, seriously injured in hit-and-run near 18th, Waco

A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after a hit-and-run accident in a neighborhood near 18th and North Waco, according to a Sedgwick County Dispatch supervisor.

The 38-year-old old man was reportedly struck by a minivan, which then fled the scene shortly after 9 p.m. Monday, the dispatcher said. The accident happened in the 1900 block of N. Arkansas. The man was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis in serious condition, he said.

Police are looking for a silver Chrysler minivan with possible damage to the passenger side in connection with the accident. Anyone who witnessed the accident or knows the whereabouts of the vehicle is encouraged to call 911.
