Car is only thing injured in Old Town shooting

Wichita police responded to Saturday morning to reports of a shots fired in Old Town.

Sgt. Scott Brunow said officers responded to a call at 1:50 a.m. in the 900 block of East First Street that an unknown man was firing a handgun toward other people.

Brunow said there were no injuries, but a 28-year-old man’s car was struck by some bullets.

“Officers recovered three shell casings” at the scene, Brunow said.

The group of people the man was shooting at had left by the time officers arrived, as had the suspect.

Brunow said witnesses to the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
