Teens ask man for cigarette, then attack him

Police are looking for two teenagers who attacked and robbed a man in Planeview on Tuesday night.

The 32-year-old man told police he was smoking a cigarette next to Jardine Middle School at 3550 E. Ross Parkway at about 9:40 p.m. when he was approached by the two boys, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

The man knew one of them, a 16-year-old boy, and they struck up a conversation. The teens asked for and received a cigarette, Nolte said, and as the conversation continued they assaulted him.

They took a silver necklace and a small amount of cash, Nolte said. The man did not require medical treatment for the scratches he suffered in the attack.

The second teen appeared to be between 16 and 18, the man told police.
