A man was beaten and robbed while walking on West 29th Street North near Shelton, a block west of Arkansas Avenue, at about 5:10 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police Sgt. Bart Brunscheen said the victim was approached by a man who demanded his wallet. The victim refused to turn it over, and the suspect punched him multiple times, then took the wallet by force, Brunscheen said.
Two other people were with the attacker, he said. They didn’t participate in the robbery, but were witnesses, Brunscheen said.
“If they decide to give us further information, that would be great,” he said.
