Shots fired into front door in north Wichita

Someone walked up to a house on North Ash late Friday night and fired six shots into the front door, police said.

But the 28-year-old woman who lives there was not home at the time, so she escaped harm, Sgt. Scott Brunow said. A neighbor reported the shooting incident shortly before 10 p.m. in the 2600 block of North Ash, which is about halfway between I-135 and Grove.

Evidence indicates the shooter walked up to the house, fired the gun and then walked away, Brunow said.

“All six shots hit the front door,” he said.
