Two shooters open fire on house in northeast Wichita

A family of five escaped injury after two people opened fire on their house in northeast Wichita early Saturday morning, police said.

The gunfire occurred at 12:20 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Green, which is north of 13th and east of Grove, Sgt. Scott Brunow said. Officers found 18 shell casings in the street near the house, and three bullets hit the house.

The family included three children: two boys, ages 8 and 18 months, and an 11-year-old girl. The shell casings were for two different guns, suggesting multiple shooters, Brunow said.
