Man hospitalized after stabbing in downtown Wichita

A 44-year-old man was stabbed twice in the abdomen on a downtown Wichita street corner after a dispute late Friday night, police said.

The man was stabbed at about 10:40 p.m. at Broadway and Pine, Sgt. Scott Brunow said. The incident occurred during “a drug transaction,” Brunow said.

The victim was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis with a potentially serious condition. Police are looking for two suspects whose names they have — a 52-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, Brunow said.

The suspects drove away in a 1989 Cadillac that was later recovered in the 1100 block of North Topeka, Brunow said.
