Two people have been arrested after police say they were involved in a robbery Tuesday at the Central Food Mart, 2900 E. Central.
A 17-year-old wearing a hooded sweat shirt and a red bandana over his face went into the convenience store about 8:40 a.m., showed the clerk a gun and demanded money, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said Wednesday. The 23-year-old clerk hit the alarm and chased after the suspect.
The clerk prevented the 17-year-old from getting in a car with a 20-year-old woman, so she took off. The 17-year-old fled the scene on foot.
Police later found both suspects in the 600 block of north Erie, where they were arrested.
“Things didn’t go as planned (for the suspects),” Nolte said.
Evidence from the robbery was also confiscated by police, although Nolte wouldn’t say how much money was taken.
