Letter carriers in the Wichita area will take part in an annual national effort and collect non-perishable food donations Saturday.
It’s part of the 20th annual “Stamp Out Hunger” campaign. Specially marked blue collection bags will be distributed this week to area residences. Such donations as peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken, soup, cereals, pasta and rice should be placed in the bag and left near the mailbox Saturday before the letter carrier arrives.
Donations will be taken to the Kansas Food Bank in Wichita. The food will be distributed to local pantries.
