Taser used to subdue student at Heights High School
One person was arrested after a school resource officer used a Taser on a student after a disturbance in the Heights High cafeteria early this afternoon, authorities said.
Numerous officers responded to the report of a large disturbance in the cafeteria shortly before 1:30 p.m., a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. A male teen was taken to the Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center.
School district spokeswoman Susan Arensman said the student was being “verbally abusive” to a school resource officer and was arrested as a result. There was no fight between students, she said.
