Cars damaged by bullets in southeast Wichita

Wichita police were called to the 3100 block of South Davidson, near Pawnee and Hillside, late Monday after a 911 report of shots fired on the street.

Officers who responded found five .22-caliber bullet shell casings lying in the street. One car had been hit, a second car also appeared to have been damaged by a bullet, and police think the house associated with the cars was targeted because of possible gang ties of some of the residents.

No one was injured. Lt. Doug Nolte said anyone with information should call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 316-267-2100.
