Sheriff’s investigators think they have solved a case in which a pizza delivery business employee is suspected of stealing credit card identities to buy merchandise. They think they know which credit cards might have been compromised in the case, and they are contacting those card holders.
A 22-year-old woman named Amanda Davidson was booked on Thursday into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of theft, sheriff’s officials said. She was employed at a local pizza delivery business and is believed to have been recording credit card numbers when orders were placed over the phone. The numbers were then used to buy merchandise.
On Friday, Sedgwick County sheriff’s officials also released a statement urging area residents to check their monthly card statements, and report any suspicious activity to them.
