A tobacco shop clerk on North Rock Road was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday, police said.
Two men entered Rock Road Tobacco at 110 N. Rock Road at about 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, said Lt. Doug Nolte. One of them had a shotgun; the clerk grabbed the shotgun and struggled with the gunman, Nolte said. The gunman won the struggle over the gun, knocking the clerk down. The other robber got behind the register and took cash and items from the store; the robbers then left. The clerk was not injured.
The robbers got away, though officers speeding to the scene afterward found a shotgun lying on the sidewalk in the 200 block of North Rock Road.
The robbers are described as two men in their 20s. One is about six feet tall, 230 to 260 pounds; the other is about five feet ten inches tall, weighing 180 and 200 pounds. Both were wearing dark billed caps, with dark bandanas tied over their faces, Nolte said. .
