A 58-year-old Wichita man suffered severe facial bruising at the hands of his homeless friend after asking whether he knew the location of some lost keys, police said this morning.
The homeless man, known as “Jerry,” went to the other man’s house in the 700 block of North Arapaho around 1 a.m. this morning, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said.
The men, who were friends, the victim told police, drank a few beers together before the 58-year-old man noticed his house keys were missing. Jerry became agitated when the man asked the location of the keys, Nolte said. He punched the 58-year-old man several times, knocking him to the ground, then kicked his face, Nolte said.
Another person living at the house called 911, according to police. Jerry was gone when officers arrived.
