Opponents of stand-your-ground law delay forum until April 7

A forum organized in opposition to Kansas’ stand-your-ground law has been postponed and will be held at 10 a.m. on April 7, at New Day Christian Church, 5221 E. Elm, Wichita.

The forum was set for Saturday but was delayed a week because of the death in the family of the Rev. Lincoln Montgomery, a local pastor who is scheduled to speak at the event, said Mary Dean, one of the forum’s organizers.

Kansas’ stand-your-ground law, which was enacted in 2006, has received attention as the result of a teenager being shot to death last month in Sanford, Fla.
