WICHITA – If you grab a light jacket as you head out the door this morning, you probably won’t need it by afternoon: Beautiful spring weather is in store.
Highs today in Wichita will reach the low 80s under sunny skies. South breezes in the teens are expected, with gusts topping 28 mph, National Weather Service forecasters say. Showers and thunderstorms may be in store overnight, with a low in the mid-50s. Slight breezes will continue from the north northwest at 5 to 8 mph.
Forecasters predict another warm, sunny day Friday, with a high topping 80 degrees. A whisper of northerly winds will continue throughout the day and become southerly by evening. Expect mostly clear skies, with a low, again, in the mid-50s.
The weekend boasts more lovely spring weather – albeit breezy – with lots of sunshine and highs in the mid-80s. Lows are expected to be between 55 and 60 degrees both Saturday and Sunday nights.Temperatures will cool off a bit by early next week, with highs expected in the mid-60s to low 70s; lows will dip into the 40s. A slight chance of rain also returns on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
