Fire damages house in south Wichita

Fire caused extensive damage to a house in south Wichita early this morning, authorities said.

No injuries were reported, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said, and the house may have been vacant. The fire was reported at 12:10 a.m. at 1906 S. Pattie, which is northeast of Washington and Mount Vernon.

It took firefighters more than 20 minutes to put out the fire. No cause has been established yet, said Wichita Fire Department captain Stuart Bevis. The damage to the structure and contents was estimated to total $60,0000, he said..
