Authorities are still awaiting the results of blood tests before moving forward in the investigation into the death of a Kechi man last month.
Carson E. Shotton, 28, was run over and killed early on the morning of Feb. 25. His 21-year-old wife called 911 at 1:41 a.m. to report that she had run over Shotton in the 300 block of Cherokee, near Kechi Road and Oliver, authorities have said.
Shotton was found under the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Sedgwick County sheriff’s Capt. Greg Pollock said investigators are awaiting blood test results to see whether alcohol, drugs or medications may be “contributing factors” in the case. Those tests typically take at least six weeks to complete, he said.

Once those tests are complete, he said, the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office. The district attorney’s office will determine what charges, if any, to file in the case.
The couple had two small children and they are in the custody of family, authorities have said.
