Wichita’s Downtown Clean Up Day scheduled for April 14

If you plan to attend the Downtown Clean Up Day, sign up now.

The clean up day begins at 8:30 a.m. April 14 and lasts until noon; volunteers will be assigned projects. People are asked to wear work clothes and bring work gloves.

The day begins with a volunteer check-in at the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce at 350 W. Douglas. A light breakfast will be provided.

Projects include power-washing sidewalks, painting curbs, painting parking stalls, street and sidewalk sweeping, decal and graffiti removal, garden bed maintenance and landscaping projects, and picking up trash.

Supplies will be provided by the city of Wichita. At noon, volunteers are asked to meet at Naftzger Park to return supplies and get a free lunch from the Old Mill Tasty Shop.

In the case of rain, the Downtown Clean Up Day will be rescheduled for April 21.
