Several fights and a robbery reported at Wichita Ballroom

Wichita police were called to the Wichita Ballroom early Sunday morning after a security officer called 911 reporting that there were several fights in the parking lot at 4150 W. Kellogg.

The report came shortly after 1 a.m. Police estimate there were about 1,500 people in the parking lot and once officers arrived, the crowd began to disperse, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

And although no one was reported injured in the fights, one man did report he was robbed when a teenager ran up to him and pulled a gold chain he had around his neck, breaking it. The braided gold necklace with a Jesus figure and three diamonds is valued at $1,800.

No suspects have been taken into custody.
