Stolen car linked to credit union robbery found in southeast Wichita

A stolen car linked to the robbery of a credit union earlier this week has been found in southeast Wichita, authorities say.

The maroon Pontiac Grand Prix was recovered by police at about 7:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Cypress, northwest of Harry and Webb, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s not far from the Credit Union of America branch at 10222 E. Harry that was robbed at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday by two armed men.

The car had been reported stolen prior to the credit union robbery, Nolte said. The car is being processed by lab technicians for possible evidence.

No arrests have been made in the case, he said.
