Police release photos of credit union robbers, stolen car

Hoping to find answers, authorities have released surveillance camera images of the two men who robbed a Credit Union of America branch in southeast Wichita on Wednesday.

The two men came into the branch at 10222 E. Harry, near Webb Road, at 9:40 a.m. One was armed with a handgun and the other with chemical spray, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

A 38-year-old employee was taken to a back room, where the robber gained access to two small safes. The woman forced to the back room and other employees were sprayed with chemical spray before the suspects left.

They drove off in a maroon, four-door 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix with the possible license plate of 513 EVD. The car had previously been reported stolen.

Both suspects appear to be men between 5-feet-8 and 6 feet tall. They were of medium build and wore masks and gloves, witnesses told police.

The FBI has joined Wichita police in the investigation.
