More sun, more warmth, more wind today for the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Highs should climb into the low 80s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will strengthen throughout the day, starting in the single digits out of the south and southeast and intensifying to the upper teens. Gusts will approach 30 miles an hour at times.
Overnight lows will drop only to the upper 50s under mostly clear skies, forecasters say, and south winds will be steady in the teens. Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high in the low 80s. Winds will be similar to Tuesday, with southeast winds in the teens and gusting to nearly 30 miles an hour.
Chances for rain arrive Wednesday night, forecasters say, and persist through the weekend.
