Sedgwick County sheriff’s investigators said today they are trying to identify a human skull that was found last month near Cheney.
An anthropologist has concluded that the skull came from a black woman between the ages of 35 and 50, investigators said.
Cheney police contacted the Sheriff’s Office this week and asked for help in identifying the skull, which was found Jan. 29 at the east edge of Cheney by some potential property buyers.
Anyone with information about the skull is being asked to contact a sheriff’s detective at 316-660-5300 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
