A First Student bus driver has been suspended after he reportedly dropped his pants during a conversation in the courtyard of Truesdell Middle School late Tuesday morning, officials said.
No students were present at the time, police and school officials said.
“We’re getting various accounts of what happened,” Wichita school district spokeswoman Susan Arensman said. “We are trying to get more information about who said what and what might have happened.”
A paraprofessional told police she heard the driver say “Do you want me to pull my pants down?” at about 11:45 a.m. at the school at 2464 S. Glenn.
She replied “Oh, no, that’s nasty,” and then began to turn away. But the driver had already dropped his trousers, revealing his underwear, she told police.
Arensman said an investigation revealed the woman was not part of the conversation involving the driver, and officials are attempting to learn the context of the conversation.
