A Wyandotte County judge on Friday sentenced a man known as the Rosedale rapist to more than 67 years in prison.
Nicholas D. Martin, 40, was sentenced to 812 months for convictions on five counts of rape, three counts of aggravated sodomy, two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of theft.
The crimes related to attacks on two women in the Rosedale area in June of last year. Police received many tips after they released a composite sketch of the rapist and told of his tattoos, which included the words “Misery’s Child” on his back and the image of a praying man next to a crescent moon on his chest.
Martin was also convicted in Missouri in 1990 on charges of burglary and rape.
