Today’s temperatures won’t tease the record book in the Wichita area, forecasters say, but it’ll still be pleasant for January.
Highs will reach the mid-50s under mostly sunny skies, with north winds intensifying from the single digits early in the day to the upper teens later on. Gusts could approach 30 miles an hour.
Those winds signal a cool front’s arrival, forecasters say, and temperatures will continue to drop through the weekend. Highs will peak in the upper 40s on Saturday and in the low to mid-40s on Sunday.
Skies will offer variable clouds but no precipitation through the weekend, forecasters say.
