Longtime TV anchor Kim Setty dies at age 47

Longtime KWCH anchor Kim Setty died Wednesday night after a six-year battle with breast cancer.

Setty was 47.

Setty was best known for her Wednesday night segment “Does It Work?” in which she recruited viewers and local celebrities to help her test the claims of products. Most recently, she anchored the station’s noon newscast.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, and she shared the news with viewers. Setty underwent surgery, but the cancer returned in 2010. She stopped working at KWCH this summer.

Setty had been with KWCH since May 1987. She is survived by her husband, Kent, and her two teenage children.
