The Wichita school district has scheduled a series of public meetings to collect opinions and feedback on proposals for new school attendance boundaries.
The meetings are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Here are the dates and locations:
• Jan. 11, West High School, 820 S. Osage
• Jan. 12, Brooks Technology and Arts Magnet Middle School, 3802 E. 27th St. North
• Jan. 18, North High School, 1437 N. Rochester
• Jan. 19, Curtis Middle School, 1031 S. Edgemoor
An advisory group began meeting in October to develop the first major overhaul of district boundaries in more than 30 years. The group is scheduled to meet again Thursday evening.
Proposals being considered would close four Wichita elementary schools, change pure magnet middle schools into neighborhood magnets, shift many boundary lines and move the Northeast Magnet High School program to a new school being built in Bel Aire.
